We are the Nanook String Quartet, a group of dedicated musicians with a passion for music making in the Last Frontier. Our mission is to share our appreciation for chamber music with the Fairbanks community and the greater state of Alaska.

Rose, Annalisa, Trevor, and Sean
The Nanook String Quartet formed in 2014 as a student ensemble at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and continues with the mission of sharing their love of chamber music with the State of Alaska. The group consists of members: Rose Crelli, Annalisa Taylor, Trevor Adams, and Sean Braendel. Together, this group of dedicated musicians performs the works of composers ranging from Mozart to Ravel; including a collaboration with pianist, Dimitrios Paganos-Koukakis, for the Shostakovich  Piano Quintet in G minor as featured artists for the 2016 Fairbanks String Fling.

Trevor Adams


A graduate of North Pole High School in North Pole, Alaska, Trevor has been an important part of the musical community in the Interior for quite a while. After studying Music Education at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, Trevor continues his legacy as the orchestra teacher at West Valley High School in Fairbanks. 

Rose Crelli

Originally from Dawson City, Yukon Territoy, Rose graduated from Inerior Distance Education of Alaska (I.D.E.A), an Alaskan homeschooling program. Currently studying Violin Performance and Music Education, Rose aspires to pursue her passion in graduate school after obtaining her bachelors degree.

Annalisa Taylor

Another product of I.D.E.A., Annalisa hails from North Pole, Alaska. She has a passion for early childhood education and teaches kindergarten music. She is studying Music Education and hopes to inspire the next generation of musicians.

Sean Braendel


Sean is lifelong Alaskan who grew up in Eagle River and is currently an undergraduate at the University of Alaska Fairbanks working towards a Bachelors of Music in Cello Performance. His love for music began with his grandparents, notable Anchorage musicians and music educators Art and Eleanor Braendel. He spent his childhood playing in school orchestra programs and the Anchorage Youth Symphony.


Since then, Sean has had the pleasure of performing as soloist and principal cellist of the Northern Lights String Orchestra and as a member of Opera Fairbanks and the Fairbanks Symphony and Arctic Chamber Orchestras under the direction Dr. Eduard Zilberkant.


Notable teachers and cellists Sean has worked with include: Arthur Braendel, Linda Ottum, Karl Knapp, and members of the Cypress quartet.
